Text Box: From the Counselor’s Corner… Character Counts
The pillar for the month of December is “Caring”. Be kind. Be compassionate. Show you care. Express gratitude. Forgive others. Help people in need.
This is a very appropriate pillar for the month of December. It is the time of the year to remember others, to be kind to your friends and neighbors. This is the time to remember the teacher who helps you with your reading and math. This is when you show gratitude to your friend who walks to school with you and to the school nurse who gives you a band-aid for that cut on your hand. Thank the ladies who prepare your lunch every day and custodians who keep the school a clean place.
So many people care for us and make this world a better place. So show your kindness and appreciation for everyone in your life. Do this by thanking them and helping people who are in need. Share a smile with someone who seems unhappy or give of your time or money to help someone who is needy. That is the Christmas Spirit! Care for others all year.

January ‘s Pillar of Character is “Fairness.” Play by the rules. Take turns and share. Be open-minded; listen to others. Don’t take advantage of others. Don’t blame others carelessly.
Do your friends want you to be on their team? Do you get along well with your partner or team in class? Do you play by the rules or try to change them to your advantage? Do you blame others when something you tried to do did not turn out right? Fairness is just doing what is right regardless of the situation. Taking the easy way is not always the best thing to do. People will want to be on your side or team when they know that you will be fair with them.

“Give to every other human being every right that you claim for yourself.” Robert Ingersoll

SLE  Performs for Students!

Tuesday, November 13, 2007, the Special Learning Environment (SLE) class at Warwick Elementary School gave their first puppet show production of the “The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything.”  The production went on without a hitch thanks to the efforts of staff and students of the SLE class.

Also, the assistance of  Tori Henry, Buddy Bloom, Jordan Forsht and Angel Gray from our fifth grade was very helpful. Pictured above from back to front are Angel Gray, Desiree Trentler, Tori Henry, Buddy Bloom, Jordan Forsht, Alaina Wood, Ethan Smith, Jo’Wan Dennard, Blake Hodde, and Ke’Adra Collins.
