Media News

Our annual Readathon provided us lots of excitement on April 18th.  We were pleased to have Senator Colburn and Delegate Eckardt  among our many guest readers.  Sheriff Phillips and State Trooper Patrick Lanahan represented our local law enforcement by reading to several classes.  There were representatives from the DCPS central office, the Board of Education, and the Dorchester Public Library.  During the day, students nominated their favorite picture book or chapter book for the national book election to be held next November.  After May 1st you can go to www.voteforbooks.com to see which books will return for the primary elections in September.  We were happy to see so many parents join us for part of their day.

Just a reminder that the school’s web page is located at http://www.warwick.dcpsmd.net.

If students would like to visit some of the sites we use in class they can click on Media Center, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Online Resources to see the list of links.  The 4th and 5th grade classes have learned to insert clip art into a variety of documents.  Barry’s Clip Art (#8 on the resource list) is a good source of free clip art that kids like to work with.
