Text Box: In media classes, students have been working on their keyboarding skills in the computer lab. Grades 1 and 2 are concentrating on mouse control and grades 3-5 are focusing on correct fingering for the various keys. We will be moving into research skills in the next few weeks. To help us in this endeavor, we have received a mobile lab consisting of 25 laptop computers. Teachers will be able to sign out the cart and take it to their classrooms to do various internet and word processing projects. I am really excited about this since it will allow one class to be in the computer lab and another class to use computers in their classroom. It will take some time for the laptops to be configured but I anticipate students being able to use them by Thanksgiving. Surf’s Up! For extra math practice . “A Plus Learning” is a fun site. The URL is http://www.aplusmath.com/. You can choose from online flashcard games, game room, homework helper, and worksheets. There are a variety of skills for K-5.
